Works with real estate developers and property owners to create spaces
for artists in downtown DC. Projects include a live/work housing program,
an arts incubator for nonprofit arts groups, 3rd 3rsday events. Also

of free, cheap, and off-the-beaten-path cultural events.
Cultural Tourism
DC
A nonprofit coalition for heritage and arts with a web site and list
serve with a good calendar of area events. Also hosts walking tours,
information on historic neighborhoods, and visitor information.
DC Advocates
for the Arts
A volunteer, grassroots organizations working to increase support
for the arts in the District. The group sponsors an annual Arts Advocacy
Day and monthly meetings.
DC Writers'
Homes
A web site photodocumenting the former houses of DC area poets, novelists,
playwrights, and memoirists. Created by Kim Roberts

Lesbian
Poetry Archive
Digitally preserving lesbian poetry and its ephemera for scholars, poets,
and general readers. Launched in December 2008 by Julie
R. Enszer.

Poetry Archive
A project created by the UK Poet Laureate, Andrew Motion, to collect
and preserve audio recordings of poets. The Archive announced in 2007
that then-serving US Poet Laureate, Donald Hall, will select 100 additional
American poets. The site also includes information for teachers and
students.

current and former Poets Laureate, a description of the position, and
