Fellowship for Christian writers to complete their first book-length
ms. of fiction or poetry; work 10 hours per week. "To support work
by writers who seek to animate the Christian imagination, foster intellectual
imagination, and explore the human condition with honesty and compassion."
Provides living expenses and stipend. 9 months; 2 residencies awarded

Salina Art Center, 242 S. Santa Fe,
P.O. Box 743, Salina, KS (785) 827-1431. Two residencies a year, ranging
from 6 to 12 weeks in length. For independent artists working in painting,
drawing, installation, digital imaging, community and sound art, and
sculpture with limited facilities for photography, printmaking, and
ceramics. Each residency will include weekly open studio sessions, education
outreach, community activities/interaction, as well as time and facilities
for the artists to create personal work that meets their creative goals.
Artists also have potential for exhibition opportunities at the Salina
Art Center's gallery and screenings at the Salina Art Center Cinema.
During their stay in Salina, artists will reside at the Warehouse in
a furnished apartment complete with a private bath, kitchenette, laundry

MISSOURI
Craft Alliance Artist-in-Residency Program,

for up to 3 artists at a time of 3, 9, or 12 months for emerging or
mid-career artists working in clay, metals or fiber. Studio facilities
in the Kranzberg Cultural Art Center in the cultural center in the city
of St. Louis. Studios of 180 sq. feet equipped with internet access
and specialized equipment; exhibit and teaching opportunities; sales
opportunities. Artists must work a minimum of 20 hours a week during
public hours; visitors can view artists at work. Studio rental is free;
artists must pay for their own housing offsite; staff can make recommendations

NEBRASKA

the clay bluffs of the Platte River, 130 miles west of Omaha. Artists
purchase and prepare own food, work 15 hours per week. No fees; residences
of 2-3 mos. Open to artists working in ceramics, drawing, installation,
mixed media, painting, sculpture, woodworking; also conceptual artists,

equipment, darkroom, video camera, editing equipment, printmaking equipment).

Kimmel Harding Nelson Center for the Arts, 801

Center, inspired by the architecture of Frank Lloyd Wright, is located
in the historic Missouri River town of Nebraska City. Residencies of
2, 4, 6, or 8 weeks offered for writers, visual artists and composers
(approx. 38 residencies awarded annually). Residents provided with free
housing and studio space, internet access and a $100/week stipend. Annual

Plains Art Museum, Printmaking Residencies,

for printmakers capable of working independently. Stipend and supply

4 artists per year. Artist must donate one print from each edition,
or one piece from a selection of unique work created during the residency,
must be open to allowing museum visitors to watch you in your studio
at work occasionally, and be willing to speak to local college audiences.

Badlands National Park,
