Volume 13:4, Fall 2012

POETIC ANCESTORS

This issue is the fifth in a biannual series of special issues documenting the rich literary history of Washington, DC. This issue celebrates past DC poets who continue to inspire and serve as models.  All essays are written by contemporary authors with strong ties to DC.

This issue was made possible, in part, by a grant from the DC Commission on the Arts and Humanities.  We are grateful for their continuing support.

Special thanks are also due to Francisco Aragón, Holly Bass, David McAleavey, and the Center for Washington Area Studies at the George Washington University.  For photos of authors, we are grateful to  Lynda  Koolish, Jim Marks,  and Afaa Michael Weaver.
